Current Student Leaders

Antonio Lazaro is a sophomore Computer Science major at Temple University, as well as an undergraduate researcher at Temple’s Human-Computer Interaction lab. His research focuses on large language models. Computing Education, and equitable HCI. He is also the Community Chair for Temple’s Association of Computing Machinery. He enjoys staying Active, playing Chess, and hanging out with friends.

Ashfin Rahman is a sophomore Computer Science major at Temple University, as well as an Undergraduate Researcher in Temple’s Human-Computer Interaction Lab. His research focuses on Generative Artificial Intelligence, Computing Education, and HCI. He enjoys being one of OwlByte’s hosts, providing educational and entertaining content.

Roman Levkovich is a freshman Finance student at Temple University. He works as a podcast editor and assists with social media outreach. Roman enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and learning about new things every day! In the future, he hopes to work in IB or even start his own company.
Past Student Leaders

Jennifer Zheng is a 3rd year student at Temple University studying Management Information Systems and Computer Science. She has worked with JPMC, Capital One, Bloomberg, and Intel on initiatives spanning energy, healthcare, ESG, and AI/ML, among others, with a primary interest in the impact of technology on the world. When she’s not at her desk, you can find Jennifer in the city exploring new businesses, at the gym, or going on a hike. Kenny Amgelikas is a Computer Science Major at Temple University. He loves listening to people, hearing their perspectives, and giving people a voice.

Cole Roberts is a sophomore Computer Science student at Temple University. He works as a Web Developer in Temple’s IT Department, a Digital Consultant for Temple’s Institute for Business and Information Technology, and a Teacher’s Assistant for the Fox School of Business. In his free time, Cole enjoys exploring the city, listening to or playing music, and playing tennis. In the future, he hopes to own his own business or become a Web or Mobile developer.

Hadassah (Dassie) Galapo is pursuing a Master’s in Data Science at Temple University, where she also earned her Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Mathematics, along with a Certificate in Music Technology. She is currently conducting research under the guidance of Dr. Zoran Obradovic, exploring how machine learning can revolutionize healthcare. Outside of her studies, Dassie enjoys ice skating, embarking on ice cream parlor adventures, and discovering hidden gems around the city. She unwinds by playing the piano and listening to podcasts, with Owlbyte at the top of her Spotify playlist.
Faculty Advisors

Dr. Alex Pang is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Computer and Information Sciences Department at Temple University. He worked in the Financial Industry as a Quantitative Analyst, Data Scientist, and technologist for over twenty years before joining Temple in 2022. He loves sharing his experience and seeing his students thrive. In his free time, Alex enjoys golfing and walking near the water. He also considers himself a lifelong learner.

Dominique Kliger, PhD, is a Faculty Member in the CIS Department and also serves as Director of the Master’s Program in Information Sciences and Technology. Due to her past experiences and research on communication-mediated technologies, she also assists with the College of Sciences and Technology’s Office of Digital Education (CST-ODL) in new digital initiatives. Since 2021, Dominique has been hosting a social belonging class activity to help freshman students understand that failure also fosters learning, particularly in the STEM field of study.

Professor Gene Kwatny has been a faculty member in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Temple University since 1979. His research interests span a wide range of areas, including real-time systems, laboratory automation, biomedical signal processing, and broadening participation in computing. In terms of teaching, Professor Kwatny focuses on computer systems, with a particular emphasis on operating systems and computer architecture.
