Kate, a Philadelphia native, studied Psychology at Queen’s College in Canada before returning to Temple to major in Statistics and Data Analytics in the Fox School of Business. Kate has always been fascinated by understanding human interaction. Through friends who graduated earlier, she discovered the HCI (Human Computer Interaction) lab in the Computer Science department, perfectly complementing her interdisciplinary interests.

You’ll hear how Kate’s diverse academic background led her to study the impact of Generative AI in education. She recently published a paper titled “‘All Roads Lead to ChatGPT’: How Generative AI is Eroding Social Interactions and Student Learning Communities” and presented related findings at a recent AI symposium. Kate also shares her enriching study abroad experience in Rome, where she learned Italian and gained a global perspective that further shaped her academic path.
